Every myth has a dragon.
Sitting on a mountain of gold. Breathing fire at anyone who approaches. Destroying kingdoms. Hoarding wealth. Impossible to kill.
Knights try. Heroes attempt. All fail.
The dragon always wins.
Because the dragon isn’t just strong.
**The dragon IS the mountain.**
-----
But this dragon doesn’t have one head.
**It has three.**
**BlackRock. Vanguard. State Street.**
Three heads. One body. $22 trillion in assets.
Sitting on the pile of wealth that used to belong to you.
Owning everything you touch, buy, use, or depend on.
-----
**You can’t boycott a three-headed dragon.**
**You can’t compete with a three-headed dragon.**
**You can’t regulate a dragon when the dragon writes the regulations.**
-----
This isn’t capitalism.
This is the dragon.
**And it’s sitting on YOUR gold.**
-----
## THE THREE HEADS
**BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street.**
**Combined assets under management: $22+ trillion.**
More than the GDP of the United States. More than the entire economies of China, Japan, and Germany combined. Roughly 1/3 of all investable assets globally.
They manage more wealth than most countries produce in a year.
-----
They’re the top shareholder in 90% of S&P 500 companies. Major stakes in nearly every publicly traded company in the world. Real estate across the globe. Government bonds. Corporate debt. Infrastructure.
Everything.
-----
**The dragon owns:**
**Tech:** Apple. Microsoft. Amazon. Google. Meta. Top 3 shareholders in all of them.
**Banking:** JPMorgan Chase. Bank of America. Citigroup. Wells Fargo.
**Media:** Disney. Comcast. Fox Corporation. Warner Bros Discovery. Every major news outlet.
**Pharma:** Pfizer. Moderna. Johnson & Johnson. Merck.
**Energy:** Exxon Mobil. Chevron. Shell. BP.
**Food:** Nestle. Coca-Cola. PepsiCo. Unilever.
**Retail:** Walmart. Target. Costco. Home Depot.
-----
When you buy an iPhone: the dragon profits.
When you fill your gas tank: the dragon profits.
When you buy groceries: the dragon profits.
When you get a prescription: the dragon profits.
When you watch TV: the dragon profits.
When you shop anywhere: the dragon profits.
-----
**You’re not choosing between companies. You’re choosing between brands owned by the same three-headed dragon.**
Coke or Pepsi? The dragon owns both.
CNN or Fox? The dragon owns both.
iPhone or Android? The dragon profits from both.
Chase or Bank of America? Same shareholders.
**Competition is theater. The dragon owns all the players.**
-----
## HEAD 1: BLACKROCK — The Aggressive Head
Largest asset manager on the planet. $10 trillion. Founded 1988 by Larry Fink. Actively managed funds. Government advisory roles. Runs the Aladdin risk management system that processes $21.6 trillion in financial activity.
**This head breathes fire.**
BlackRock doesn’t just own companies. BlackRock tells companies what to do.
CEO Larry Fink sends annual letters to every major CEO dictating policy. Not suggestions. Demands. Hit climate targets. Hit diversity quotas. Implement stakeholder capitalism. Align with WEF goals.
**Translation:** “We own enough shares to fire you. Do what we say.”
-----
## HEAD 2: VANGUARD — The Hidden Head
Second largest. $8.5 trillion. Founded 1975 by John Bogle. Index fund dominance. Claims no control. “Passive” investing.
**This head operates invisibly.**
Here’s the trick: Vanguard is owned by its own funds. Sounds like decentralization. It’s actually genius obfuscation.
Normal company — shareholders own it. Shareholders can be identified. You know who controls it.
Vanguard — funds own Vanguard. But Vanguard manages the funds. Circular ownership. No identifiable owners.
Who actually controls Vanguard? **Nobody knows.** The ownership structure is a shell game.
But here’s what we do know:
**Vanguard is the largest shareholder in BlackRock.**
The second-largest asset manager is the largest shareholder in the largest asset manager. Read that again.
-----
## HEAD 3: STATE STREET — The Institutional Head
Third largest. $4+ trillion. Founded 1792 — oldest continually operating bank in the United States. Pension and institutional focus.
**This head guards the hoard.**
Most government employee pensions flow through State Street. Teachers. Police. Firefighters. Military. Their retirement savings are State Street’s assets under management.
Can’t strike. Can’t quit. Can’t rebel. Your pension is hostage.
This head doesn’t need to be aggressive like BlackRock. Doesn’t need to hide like Vanguard. This head holds your future. You need it to exist.
And like the other heads, State Street votes its shares. Decides corporate boards. Influences policy. Shapes the economy.
**Using your retirement money.**
-----
## THE DRAGON’S BODY
The three heads don’t just coordinate. **They own each other.**
BlackRock’s largest shareholder: Vanguard.
Vanguard’s largest shareholder: BlackRock.
State Street’s largest shareholders: BlackRock and Vanguard.
Cross-ownership. Interlocking control. This isn’t three separate companies. This is one entity with three faces. Same money. Same interests. Coordinated control.
Attack one head? The other two defend. Regulate one head? The other two adapt. The body remains intact.
**You’re not fighting three companies. You’re fighting one dragon with three mouths.**
-----
## THE VOTING POWER
When you own shares in a company, you get voting rights. One share, one vote. The three-headed dragon owns shares in everything. Which means the dragon votes on everything.
Board elections. Executive compensation. Mergers and acquisitions. Corporate policy. ESG initiatives. Shareholder resolutions.
**They vote as one.** Study after study shows BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street vote identically on most major issues. Not similar. Identical. As if one entity is making all the decisions.
**Because it is.**
Want to be CEO of Apple? The dragon has to approve. Want to merge Amazon and Whole Foods? The dragon decides. Want to change Microsoft’s climate policy? The dragon votes.
CEOs don’t work for shareholders anymore. CEOs work for the dragon. Do what the dragon wants: keep your job. Defy the dragon: get voted out.
This is how every major company adopts the same policies. Pushes the same agendas. Moves in lockstep. Not because CEOs all independently decided to do the same thing. Because the same shareholder told all of them what to do.
-----
## THE DRAGON’S GOLD
The dragon is sitting on YOUR gold. That $22 trillion didn’t come from the dragon. **It came from you.**
Your 401(k) — invested in index funds managed by BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street. Your pension — institutional funds managed by State Street. Your mutual funds — passively invested, Vanguard dominates.
The mechanism:
You work. You save. You invest for retirement because you have to. Your money flows into a 401(k), IRA, pension, mutual fund. That money gets managed by the dragon.
What they do with YOUR money: buy shares in every major company. Get voting rights on those shares. Vote to control corporate boards. Shape corporate policy. Extract wealth from the economy. Return tiny dividends to you, minus fees.
You can’t vote your shares — the fund managers do. Can’t direct your investments — passive funds track indexes. Can’t opt out — need the retirement account for tax benefits. Watch your purchasing power decline while the dragon hoards more.
**You work. You save. You give it to the dragon. The dragon uses it to control everything. You retire poor anyway. The dragon retires on a bigger pile.**
Brilliant. Invisible. Completely legal.
-----
## WHY YOU CAN’T SLAY THE DRAGON
**Boycott?** The dragon owns every bank you could use. Every grocery store you could shop at. Every gas station you could fill up at. Every tech company whose products you use. Every streaming service you watch. Every retailer you buy from. You can’t boycott the dragon. The dragon owns the alternatives.
**Compete?** Start your own company. Who do you need to go public? Investment banks — the dragon owns them. Who underwrites your IPO? Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan — the dragon owns them. Who buys your shares? Institutional investors — the dragon. Even if you succeed, the dragon becomes your largest shareholder. Gets board seats. Votes on your decisions. You just made the dragon stronger.
**Regulate?** Who writes the laws? Politicians. Who funds the politicians? Corporate PACs — the dragon owns the corporations. Who advises the government on financial policy? BlackRock. Literally. They advised the Fed in 2008 and 2020. The dragon writes the regulations. Then complies with regulations it wrote. While making sure no regulation actually hurts it.
-----
## HOW THE DRAGON WINS EVERY TIME
**Economic boom:** Dragon owns assets. Assets appreciate. Dragon wins.
**Economic crash:** Dragon has cash reserves. Buys assets at discount. Consolidates more ownership. Dragon wins.
**Inflation:** Dragon owns hard assets — real estate, companies, commodities. Inflation increases asset prices. Dragon wins. Your cash loses value.
**Deflation:** Dragon’s cash reserves gain purchasing power. Buys more assets cheaper. Dragon wins.
**Government intervention:** Dragon advises government. Gets bailouts, favorable policy, regulatory capture. Dragon wins.
The dragon doesn’t care which way the economy goes. The dragon profits from volatility itself. **The dragon wins because it owns all sides.**
-----
## THE MOUNTAIN IS THE DRAGON
The dragon isn’t just sitting on the mountain of gold. **The dragon IS the mountain.**
The economy itself is the dragon. Modern finance is the dragon. The stock market is the dragon. Retirement accounts are the dragon. Passive investing is the dragon. Index funds are the dragon.
You’re not fighting a dragon that invaded the system. **The dragon built the system. The system IS the dragon.**
Save more money — the dragon manages it. Invest in index funds — the dragon controls them. Diversify your portfolio — the dragon owns the diversity. Buy real estate — the dragon owns the REITs and mortgage servicers. Start a business — the dragon owns your suppliers and customers. Use a different bank — the dragon owns the parent company.
There is no “outside” the dragon. **The dragon swallowed the whole economy.**
-----
## THE ONLY WAY OUT
You can’t kill the dragon. But you can stop feeding it.
The dragon needs you to work for corporations it owns. Invest in 401(k)s it manages. Buy from retailers it owns. Watch its media. Believe in the system it created. Stay dependent on institutions it runs.
**What starves the dragon:**
Build outside the system. Digital products. Peer-to-peer value exchange. Skills-based economy. Community networks.
Own real assets. Land — if you actually control it. Skills — can’t be repossessed. Relationships — can’t be bought.
Exit the harvest. Stop believing you need the system. Stop feeding your energy into it. Stop measuring success by its metrics.
Build parallel systems. Local food networks. Alternative education. Decentralized finance. Community resilience.
**You can’t fight the dragon on its mountain. You build a different mountain. Then invite others to leave the dragon’s mountain and join you.**
The dragon starves when you stop feeding it.
And it turns out — you were always the one keeping it alive.
-----
## THE CHOICE
The three-headed dragon sits on the mountain. Breathing fire. Hoarding gold. Controlling everything.
You have two choices.
**Keep climbing the dragon’s mountain.** Compete for scraps. Work in its corporations. Invest in its funds. Buy from its stores. Retire on its terms.
**Build your own mountain.** Create outside its control. Own what can’t be taken. Build what can’t be bought. Connect with who can’t be corrupted. Become what can’t be harvested.
The dragon wants you to believe there’s only one mountain. **That’s the lie.**
The dragon is real. The dragon is powerful. The dragon owns everything.
**But the dragon needs you more than you need it.**
And that’s the weakness.

Holy shit…😕
Interesting, I just saved this article I’m going to read soon, I always refer to the Department of Energy, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the Department of Defense as the three headed dog guarding the underworld. I also call them by different names
Department of Energy
(Department of Magic)
Central Intelligence Agency
(Department of Information)
Department of Defense
(Department of Destruction)
